During a scheduled service visit, our car park gate technicians discovered significant damage to the lower hinge of the right-hand gate (as per photo below). The technicians believe the hinge has been weakened initially by impacts from vehicles and has now completely sheared off as a consequence of subsequent wear and tear.

For safety reasons the technicians were required to de-commission the gate until the necessary repairs can be done. We have requested that they expedite repairs, and we are hopeful they can be done within the next few days. However, this does mean that the gate must remain open in the interim. Accordingly, we have arranged for a security guard to be posted in the Ground Floor car park between the hours of 11pm and 5am. We ask that residents also assist by being extra vigilant and by leaving all vehicles and store rooms securely locked and not leaving anything of value in vehicles.

This will also mean that when the technicians return to complete the repairs, it will not be possible for vehicles to enter or exit the basement car park levels for the duration of the repair work. We will give prior warning of this as soon as we know when this is due to occur so that, if necessary, residents can make alternative arrangements during that period.
